Gibson Dunn Adds Two Private Equity Of Counsels in Houston

Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP is pleased to announce that Lynn Abell and Adam Whitehouse have joined the firm’s Houston office as of counsels. Abell and Whitehouse, formerly with Willkie Farr & Gallagher LLP, will serve as members of the firm’s Private Equity Practice Group.

Abell advises clients on acquisitions and divestitures and joint venture arrangements, and she also represents both borrowers and financial institutions with respect to lending transactions in a variety of sectors. She was recently selected to participate in the fourth Leadership Class of the Institute for Energy Law. Prior to entering private practice, Abell worked in-house at exploration and production companies as both a landman and attorney. She received her Juris Doctor with honors from The University of Texas at School of Law in 2013, and she also received a Master of Arts in Italian Studies from The University of Texas at Austin in 2011.

Whitehouse focuses on a variety of transactions in the energy industry, including advising clients on mergers and acquisitions (upstream, midstream and downstream transactions), joint venture arrangements, portfolio company investments and other general corporate matters. He is an Advisory Board Member of the Institute for Energy Law and a member of the Association for International Energy Negotiators. Before joining Gibson Dunn, Whitehouse served in roles at Kirkland & Ellis LLP, Willkie Farr & Gallagher LLP and Exxon Mobil Corporation. He received his law degree from the University of Virginia School of Law in 2010.
