The group of attorneys and other professionals involved in the initiative extends across multiple offices around the world and includes many different practice groups and areas of experience.

The firm believes that by collaborating in this manner among various disciplines and departments throughout the firm, the synergy created through knowledge sharing and experimentation through pilots and other initiatives will put its team at the forefront of understanding and employing innovative technology, as well as continuing to identify new use cases.

Evaluating new tools

As a part of this initiative, the firm is currently evaluating the efficacy of new tools, noting the recent appearance of new providers such as RAVN Systems, ThreadKM, ROSS, Neota Logic and Kira Systems, among others.

The announcement coincides with the recent launch of BCXponent, a new division of the firm focused on delivering practical solutions for law departments. This new incubator is led by Katie DeBord, Bryan Cave’s Chief Innovation Officer.

The future

Katie DeBord said: “All of these technologies represent the future of the practice of law. When it comes to deploying new technology, we always strive to learn as much as we can, as quickly as possible, and pilots are an excellent way to do that.”
