Ogletree Deakins Launches Interactive Platform Tackling Multistate Compliance Issues

   |   Press Release

ATLANTA – March 17, 2021 – Ogletree Deakins has launched its State Law Maps tool, which provides clients with complimentary access to online, interactive, up-to-date U.S. maps and legal guides on several key multistate compliance topics. State Law Maps cover 51 jurisdictions (all 50 states plus the District of Columbia) and nine topics: Ban the Box, Paid Sick Leave, Personnel File Laws, Predictive Scheduling, Right to Work, Salary History Limitations, Sexual Harassment Training, State Minimum Wage, and Voting Leave Laws. The State Law Maps tool will continue to grow to include additional topics and short summaries of relevant laws. It is available for clients at https://statelawmaps.ogletree.com/.

“A crucial tenet of our Client Pledge is to harness technology and innovation to better serve our client’s interests,” said Matt Keen, managing shareholder of Ogletree Deakins. “With State Law Maps, we are continuing to emphasize innovation and expand our offerings to provide enhanced value to our clients with an on-demand tool accessible anytime.”

The State Law Maps tool is the initial phase in a multi-step plan from Ogletree Deakins’ Innovation Council to expand the firm’s digital platform and related offerings for clients. The Innovation Council consists of senior shareholders and staff who review, recommend, and develop new offerings that advance the business of law, create efficiencies, streamline processes, and redefine service delivery models.

The new State Law Maps interactive platform leverages proprietary technology and uses an intuitive interface to provide visual, succinct, and practical responses to vexing multistate compliance issues. In each topic map, clicking on a state launches a pop-up summary of the law with a link to a more detailed state law guide. Clients can also access legal summaries by state or topic. The State Law Maps are updated by a team of Ogletree Deakins attorneys as the law changes. When clients log into the main navigation of the platform, notification alerts will inform them about recent topic and state updates.
