Global law firm White & Case LLP has expanded its Global Project Development and Finance Practice with the addition of Tim Fourteau and Jamie Franklin as partners.

"White & Case is a market leader in project development and finance in Asia-Pacific and we're constantly looking to ensure that we exceed our clients' expectations and continue to serve them effectively as markets change," said White & Case partner Mark Castillo-Bernaus, Head of the Global Project Development and Finance Practice. "We've seen a material shift in demand for energy and infrastructure needs in Southeast Asia in recent years, leading to substantial growth in the renewables, oil & gas and gas-to-power sectors, and Jamie and Tim are perfectly placed to strengthen and expand our capabilities advising clients developing and investing in the region."

Fourteau focuses on project development and project finance transactions, advising sponsors, financial institutions and debt and equity investors on power, infrastructure, and oil & gas projects in Southeast Asia and across the Asia-Pacific region. He also has experience advising on energy-related M&A and private equity transactions. Fourteau is qualified to practice in New York and joins from Latham & Watkins, where he was counsel.

Franklin advises clients on project development and finance and other project-related transactions, particularly in the energy sector, including LNG, oil & gas, power and renewables-related matters. He also advises on a wide range of energy, natural resources and infrastructure-related M&A, private equity, and financing transactions. Franklin is English law qualified and also joins from Latham & Watkins, where he was counsel. Franklin and Fourteau will be based in Singapore in due course.

"Jamie and Tim have very strong experience working on many of the most important project financing transactions across Southeast Asia, particularly in Indonesia and the Mekong Delta," said White & Case partner Andrew Clark, Regional Section Head Asia-Pacific EIPAF & Disputes. "Their wide-ranging deal experience, coupled with their credibility with key decision makers, make them a perfect fit to enable us to advise clients across the full spectrum of Asia-Pacific project financing work."

Partner Donald Baker, a member of White & Case's global Executive Committee, added: "We have been growing our project finance and development capabilities in Asia-Pacific in recent years in line with our strategic objectives, including our focus on the global energy industry, most recently with the relocation of White & Case partner and leading energy sector lawyer Saul Daniel to Singapore in July 2020. The addition of Jamie and Tim and their substantial expertise in oil & gas, LNG and power will further expand and strengthen our leading role in the energy sector in Southeast Asia and beyond."
