Georgia lawyer gives appeal court an 'earful' with novel Mickey Mouse argument

A George lawyer wore Mickey Mouse ears to argue that not even Disney World could stand up to the “fantasy arguments” made by opposing counsel

Robert Ingram of Moore Ingram Johnson & Steeles sought a new avenue of persuasion during a recent hearing before the Georgia Court of Appeals.

Wearing Mickey Mouse ears, he told the panel that not even Disney World could not stand up to the “fantasy arguments” made by opposing counsel.

According to Law.com, Ingram told the court that he had spent the previous week at Disney World with his grandchildren where they had seen “all kinds of fantasy.” But nothing they saw, he added, could compare to the arguments of opposing counsel. Then he doffed the head wear.

Ingram’s novel approach arose in the context of an appeal from an order disqualifying two lawyers from representing their client in litigation. Ingram was arguing to uphold the disqualification.

No word yet on who won — or what impact those Mickey Mouse ears might have had.
