Hogan Lovells, the global law firm, is preparing to hire up to 30 people in Ireland as it closes in on choosing an office in Dublin.

The company has whittled down its selection to two offices, thought to be in the Grand Canal Dock area of the capital.

In October Hogan Lovells hired Eoin O Connor, a financial regulatory planner, to lead a global regulatory practice in Dublin. He had previously worked at Walkers, another international firm with a presence in Ireland.

Hogan Lovells, which employs 2,400 lawyers internationally, is not looking to open a full service firm in Dublin immediately but will focus on regulatory advisory work instead, providing guidance in areas such as asset disposal, data privacy and consumer protection compliance.
