The frustration of working to improve diversity, equity and inclusion but failing to see the desired results has given rise to a new consortium of Nebraska firms, law schools, local businesses and the state bar association, which aims to make the legal community in the state more welcoming to attorneys of all backgrounds.

Sixteen law firms—including Am Law 100 firms Husch Blackwell and Jackson Lewis and Am Law 200 firm Kutak Rock—and businesses, along with the Nebraska State Bar Association, Creighton University School of Law and the University of Nebraska College of Law, have joined together to form the Nebraska Legal Diversity Council (NLDC).
