On Thursday 20 January, independent UK law firm Burges Salmon hosted the latest virtual roundtable in its ‘Road to Net Zero’ series which brought together sector leaders and key stakeholders to discuss the key themes, challenges and opportunities in delivering Net Zero aims.
The roundtable marked the eleventh in the series launched by Burges Salmon to address the challenges and opportunities of achieving the government’s Net Zero 2050 target, with regard to the role of energy sector developers and enablers in delivering the energy transition, with the firm welcoming key organisations such as Baringa, Costain, Voltalia and Gravis Capital.
Burges Salmon partner Ross Fairley, Chair of Net Zero Services, facilitated the discussion with an array of the Firm’s Energy Team including, Camilla Usher-Clark, Nick Churchward, Victoria Allsopp, James Phillips and Alec Whiter.
The eleventh roundtable touched on a range of topics and asked a number of important questions around what needs to change in the energy sector to help the UK meet its Net Zero targets and what the biggest opportunities for delivering energy resilience are in moving to Net Zero, as well as looking at other issues such as the changes required in regulation and policy.
