Eckert Seamans Welcomes Alaina Wartman

Eckert Seamans is pleased to welcome Alaina B. Wartman to the firm’s Philadelphia office. She focuses her practice on corporate transactions within the hospitality and gaming industries.

Wartman works with real estate development companies, investors, and hotel management companies to draft and negotiate agreements related to the financing, development, management, and licensing of hotel assets. She also negotiates and reviews day-to-day hotel agreements, such as services agreements, group sales agreements, and space leases.

Before joining the firm, Wartman gained experience working as a tax associate at a large accounting firm, where she helped clients identify opportunities for tax refund or remediation, prepare tax appeals, and perform due diligence.

During her legal studies, Wartman interned for the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, the U.S. Department of Justice – Tax Division, and for The Honorable Joy Flowers Conti, Chief Judge of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania. Prior to practicing law, she worked in finance at a large privately held hotel company, where she implemented, improved, and enforced auditing and accounting procedures.

Active in the community, Wartman serves as a youth running coach for Girls on the Run, a national non-profit, physical activity-based positive youth development program for girls.

Wartman is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and earned her J.D., cum laude, from Temple University Beasley School of Law (2019), where she served as Staff Editor of the Temple International and Comparative Law Journal. Her undergraduate degree in hospitality administration is from Boston University (2013), magna cum laude.
