Squire Patton Boggs is pleased to announce that Hin Han Shum, an associate in its Communications Practice Group, has been appointed as a solicitor-advocate by the Hong Kong Law Society.

The Legal Practitioners (Amendment) Ordinance grants higher rights of audience to solicitors before the High Court, the Court of Appeal and the Court of Final Appeal in civil proceedings, meaning that Hin Han is able to represent clients without a barrister.

Hin Han has conducted various litigation cases and has represented clients in interlocutory applications in the District Court and High Court. She previously served as solicitor in various civil litigation proceedings and is qualified as an accredited general mediator. She also has experience in handling a range of criminal cases, including white-collar investigations.

“I am honoured to receive this recognition from the Hong Kong Law Society,” said Hin Han. “I very much look forward to being able to represent our clients more widely, from the beginning of litigation through to advocating their position in court and the conclusion of the case.”
