Global law firm White & Case LLP has expanded its Global Mergers & Acquisitions Practice and Financial Services Regulatory practice with the addition of Alessandro Zappasodi as a partner in Milan.

"There is strong and ongoing demand for financial regulatory advice from our financial services and corporate clients in EMEA and globally, as they navigate an evolving and increasingly complex regulatory environment as well as other significant challenges in their markets," said White & Case partner of counsel Duane Wall, who leads the Financial Services Regulatory practice. "Alessandro's addition is a clear indication that we are determined to continue growing our role advising clients on these increasingly important issues."

Zappasodi, who joins White & Case from August 1, 2021, advises banks, asset managers, insurance companies, non-banking financial intermediaries and other regulated entities on day-to-day regulatory matters, transactions and the structuring and implementation of regulatory-driven financing transactions and business models, as well as on litigation and sanction proceedings brought by the relevant supervisory authorities. He also advises international and domestic investors on the establishment of Italian-regulated entities and on the acquisition and sale of such entities. Zappasodi joins White & Case from Pedersoli Studio Legale, where he was a partner, and brings nearly 20 years of experience.

"Alessandro is a dynamic and experienced financial regulatory lawyer who brings added breadth to our offering in Milan and across EMEA," said Michael Immordino, White & Case Office Executive Partner in Milan. "His practice has clear synergies with the needs of our existing clients and there are exciting opportunities to expand the support we provide to domestic and international clients who need regulatory advice in Italy."

Partner Oliver Brettle, a member of White & Case's global Executive Committee, said: "Alessandro joins a strong financial regulatory team in EMEA which includes partners in London, Paris, Berlin and Stockholm. His arrival also adds further strength to our important and successful Milan office, which has continued to grow in recent years through both lateral partner additions and internal partner promotions."
