December 2, 2020 (New York) – While navigating online education and social distancing during the pandemic, members of the Proskauer Caregivers Network were welcomed to join “Music with Peter,” an innovative academic program for young students hosted by Peter Alsen, a Marquette graduate and musician, who has been teaching and inspiring children with participative music performances for over 20 years.
Children and grandchildren of Proskauer colleagues joined in the musical fun during six “Music with Peter” sessions this fall. Peter’s music inspired interaction and participation, creating a space for children to choose the direction of the fun from musical games and imagination adventures to both original familiar songs.
Boston corporate associate Kerry Fitzgerald Shriver said, “My three-year-old son, Chase, who never sits still for longer than a few minutes and generally does not like anything to do with zoom, loved singing, jumping, dancing, counting along with Peter’s songs. Peter did a great job of keeping him engaged by making up songs about the animals and colors Chase picked (he expertly altered the lyrics when Chase was asked for an animal to sing – he first picked a hippopotamus and then insisted on a tree).”
Los Angeles tax associate Katrine Magas expressed her gratitude to the Proskauer Caregiver Network for “providing a fun, educational and interactive experience for little ones of all ages! My son and I look forward to more sessions with Peter in the future.”
