FRANKFURT, April 1, 2020: Dr. Joachim Heine, a seasoned lawyer who focuses on mergers and acquisitions and other corporate transactions, has joined Morgan Lewis as a partner in Frankfurt. He arrives from another global law firm, where he led the life sciences practice in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.

“Joachim’s extensive cross-border knowledge and experience make him a perfect fit for our global platform,” said Firm Chair Jami McKeon. “His broad and diverse background, particularly in representing life sciences companies, further strengthens our transactions services for clients in Europe and around the globe.”

Joachim advises clients on public and private mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and venture capital financings, with an emphasis on cross-border transactions, particularly in-bound and out-bound Germany matters. He represents corporates, private equity firms, and venture capital funds across a broad range industries, including pharmaceuticals, medical devices, technology, media and communications, and financial services.

“Joachim is a terrific addition to our team,” said Steve Browne, who leads Morgan Lewis’s global corporate and business transactions practice. “His wide-ranging experience further strengthens the services we provide clients looking to complete complex transactions inbound to Germany as well as German clients looking to do business internationally.”

At Morgan Lewis, Joachim is reunited with former investment management, tax, and corporate colleagues who joined from the same global firm last year in Washington, DC, and in Abu Dhabi, where Morgan Lewis opened an office on March 1, 2019, as its 31st office worldwide.

“Our German corporate practice works closely with international colleagues to advise our global clients and assist them in reaching their strategic goals,” said Jörg Siegels, managing partner of Morgan Lewis’s Frankfurt office. “Joachim’s arrival brings further depth to our team on the ground and around the world.”
