Faegre Drinker Continues Growth of Insurance Practice With Counsel Elyor Pogorelskiy

Faegre Drinker announced today that Elyor Pogorelskiy has joined the firm’s insurance practice group as counsel in the New York office. Pogorelskiy joins from a national insurance company where he served as assistant general counsel in New York.

Faegre Drinker’s insurance practice continues to grow, with Pogorelskiy’s arrival following the addition of counsel Jaci Gordon in April in Philadelphia.

Pogorelskiy advises and represents insurance industry stakeholders in both regulatory compliance and litigation. Formerly, as in-house regulatory and product counsel with global insurance provider companies, he advised on life insurance product development, sales and administration, as well as other regulatory compliance issues.

“Elyor is a great addition to our insurance practice.” said Stephen Serfass, leader of the insurance practice. “His background from working in-house at insurance companies and in private practice has equipped him with a breadth of skill sets and knowledge that we’re looking forward to leveraging for clients.”

An experienced litigator, Pogorelskiy has represented insurer clients in complex insurance matters in state and federal courts, and arbitrations arising out of personal and commercial property and casualty, life and health, annuity, and financial lines. His extensive experience includes matters involving property, environmental, professional liability, general liability, directors and officers, and other claims.

Pogorelskiy earned his B.B.A. from Adelphi University and his J.D. from Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, magna cum laude.
