Clifford Chance advises cybersecurity firm Aikido on its Series A financing round
Global law firm Clifford Chance has advised Aikido, a cutting-edge B2B cloud security software start-up based in Ghent, Belgium, on a new financing round raising $17 million. The round was led by European venture firm Singular and comes less than six months after Aikido raised its seed round. The Series A round also saw participation from Notion Capital and Connect Ventures, both of which co-led the seed round.
International expansion
Aikido intends to use the funds to scale internationally and to deepen its platform in the network security market. Aikido's AI-powered cybersecurity tool responds to both software developers' wish for an all-in-one tool to flag cyber risks, and the increasing compliance standards and regulation relating to cybersecurity, such as the EU NIS2 Directive. Aikido, who has 30% of its customers in the US, and aiming for further international expansion, will now be able to deepen its platform and to push itself on the global stage.
Clifford Chance team
The Clifford Chance team was led by associate Gillis Waelkens with the support of partner Patrice Viaene, and further consisted of associates Yonathan Tison, Stijn Van Walleghem and Victor Raeymakers, all based in Brussels. Clifford Chance previously advised on Aikido's successful pre-seed and seed rounds.
