Clifford Chance advises on the equity bridge financing for the largest transmission assets awarded in Peru

Global law firm Clifford Chance has advised Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation, as Senior Mandated Lead Arranger and Sole Bookrunner, Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria, S.A., as Senior Mandated Lead Arranger and Bank of China Limited (Panama Branch), Intesa Sanpaolo S.p.A., New York Branch and Natixis, New York Branch , as Mandated Lead Arrangers, in connection with a US$345 million equity bridge loan facility to finance the TOCE-CEPI transmission assets in Northern Peru.

TOCE-CEPI, the largest transmission assets awarded in Peru, includes (i) the 500 kV Huanuco - Tocache - Celendin - Trujillo interconnection, expansions and associated substations and (ii) the 500 kV Celendin - Piura interconnection, expansions and associated substations. The transaction is expected to strengthen the reliability and efficiency of Northern Peru's electricity infrastructure.
