Congressional Investigations attorney Christopher Armstrong was quoted in an Inside Higher Ed article noting the increasing use of congressional investigations as Congress struggles with legislative action. He highlighted that congressional scrutiny of university affairs, such as those related to antisemitism on campus, is unlikely to subside and extends beyond specific incidents, reflecting a broader challenge for higher education. Mr. Armstrong also pointed out that every congressional chair has the authority to launch investigations, which creates "immediate risk" for educational institutions.

"As the Congress is increasingly unable to legislate as a functioning body, investigations are something every chair can lodge," he said.
