The panel will comprise Duncan Speller (WilmerHale), Tuvan Yalim (Kabine Law), Mehmet Karli (Kabine Law) and Jonathan Lim (WilmerHale). Mr. Speller will discuss commercial arbitration involving States and State-controlled entities, including issues of state immunity. Mr. Yalim will consider the question: “Whose act is a State act?,” while Mr. Karlı will address Turkish BITs and the principal challenges in their application. Mr. Lim will consider the latest developments in investment treaty arbitration relevant to Turkish overseas investments, including arbitrations under the Organization of Islamic Cooperation Investment Agreement.
