Washington D.C., 17 May 2019 – A team of lawyers from Hogan Lovells has advised client Enfission, on a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with NuScale Power. Through the MoU, Enfission and NuScale, will explore the use of Enfission’s next generation nuclear fuel technology in NuScale’s small modular reactor (SMR) design.

Enfission, a joint venture of existing client Lightbridge (NASDAQ: LTBR, a developer of new nuclear fuel technology) and French nuclear energy giant Framatome, develops and markets innovative Lightbridge FuelTM which is designed to significantly improve the efficiency, economics and safety of existing and new reactors. Through the MOU, NuScale and Enfission aim to collaborate on the potential for Lightbridge FuelTM to optimize the NuScale SMR’s highly efficient natural circulation design.

"This is an exciting development for Enfission, and for the nuclear energy industry in general," said Steve Miller, Senior Counsel at Hogan Lovells. "This agreement further underscores the potential for Enfission and Lightbridge FuelTM technology to transform the economics and competitiveness of nuclear electricity generation."

Enfission was advised by a Hogan Lovells team that included a number of attorneys across offices and practice groups, including team lead senior counsel Steve Miller, partners Amy Roma, Mary Anne Sullivan, Sachin Desai and David Crandall, and associates Polly Sims, and Agathe Michel-de Cazotte.
