Kelly Wrenn Elected to CRE Finance Council Board of Governors

April 15, 2019

Kelly Wrenn, a partner in Ballard Spahr's Washington D.C., office, has been elected to the Board of Governors of CRE Finance Council (CREFC). His two-year term begins June 10.

CREFC is the leading trade association for the $4.2 trillion commercial real estate finance industry. Its membership comprises more than 9,000 individuals and 300 companies, including balance sheet and securitized lenders, loan and bond investors, private equity firms, servicers and rating agencies, among others. The organization is overseen by its Board of Governors, which meets four times a year.

Mr. Wrenn, a member of Ballard Spahr's Elected Board, has been involved in a number of high-profile real estate finance transactions during his more than 30-year career as a structured finance lawyer, including the $200 million mezzanine financing for the Rockefeller Center "Top of the Rock" in New York. He represents a wide range of clients across the country, including portfolio, agency, and conduit lenders, commercial loan servicers, and other financial institutions.

"This industry serves a crucial function by financing the places in which we work, shop, and even live—everything from office buildings to retail and hospitality properties to multifamily housing. CREFC works to promote the liquidity, transparency, and efficiency critical to the success of the commercial real estate finance industry," said Mr. Wrenn. "I'm honored to have the chance to participate in the leadership of this respected and influential institution on behalf of Ballard Spahr."
