Legal firm Addleshaw Goddard has appointed Ton van den Bosch as partner as it further expands its Asia practice.

He joins from Ince & Co where he was of counsel as well as heading its global terminals and maritime infrastructure practice and its energy and projects team in South and Southeast Asia. His prior experience includes 10 years with international law firms in Singapore, Amsterdam, New York and Jakarta, over a decade of experience as general counsel of a global oil and gas contractor and, more recently, of a global terminal operator headquartered in the Philippines.

Based in Addleshaw Goddard’s Singapore office from February 1, van den Bosch will offer legal advice on corporate finance, restructuring, foreign investment and project development, with a focus on offshore oil and gas and terminals, as well as Addleshaw Goddard’s global focus areas of logistics, real estate, retail, consumer, transportation and energy.

With this hire, Addleshaw Goddard’s Asia practice now counts six partners and 35 fee earners across the region.

“Southeast Asia is an exciting market and Ton’s proven track record of self-generating business opportunities, coupled with his experience in areas that will see us penetrate new sectors in the region, means we can grow our corporate offering in the region and strengthen links with the GCC, India and Africa,” says Bob Charlton, head of Addleshaw Goddard’s Asia region. “Our plans to be a double-digit partner business by FY 2021 are on course and we will continue to look for the right talent to achieve this aim.”

Speaking to GTR, van den Bosch says: “Addleshaw Goddard offers an exciting platform for our clients. For the first time, the firm will have full transactional capability in Singapore, and we will not only be able to serve existing clients, but I will be able to leverage on my experience and contacts to originate new business in Asia, the Middle East and Africa.”
