State Attorneys General Group Launches Election Tracker Covering All Primary and General State AG Races

Tuesday, February 13, 2018

Washington DC, February 13, 2018 — On February 14, Cozen O’Connor’s State Attorneys General Practice will launch the only online resource providing daily coverage of all state attorney general primary and general elections. The State AG Election Tracker was developed to help Cozen O’Connor’s clients track and assess on a real-time basis the changing political landscape in the AG world and the implications for their business. Thirty states plus the District of Columbia will hold elections for State AG this year, including at least 10 open-seat races. AGs appointed by governors or legislatures may change in an additional five states in 2018.

“Areas of potential change in policy and enforcement priorities by newly elected AGs include data privacy and cybersecurity, financial services, antitrust, advertising practices, health care pricing and coverage, and environmental matters,” said Bernard Nash, co-chair of Cozen O’Connor’s State AG Practice. Nash also noted that “state election outcomes may result in increased conflict between state and federal laws and policies, such as immigration, marijuana, and business regulation, complicating enforcement and compliance.”

“The State AG Election Tracker combined with further election analysis and events that our practice will be offering throughout the year will serve as an invaluable tool for companies as they continue to develop and refine their legal and business strategies to remain in compliance with new and often divergent laws and policies,” added State AG Practice Co-Chair Lori Kalani.

The State AG Election Tracker includes state-by-state AG candidate snapshots, filing deadlines and primary election dates; daily news, insights, polling, and fundraising data, and real-time election-night updates via text and email. Access to the State AG Election Tracker is free.
