The Legal Aid Society in partnership with Cleary Gottlieb filed a lawsuit on September 30, 2016, to represent a class of women of color, many transgender, who have been discriminated against and wrongly arrested under a New York City law that criminalizes loitering for the purposes of prostitution.

Vanity Fair featured the firm’s representation of these pro bono clients in an article about the lawsuit.
