August 9, 2017 (NEW YORK) – Proskauer partner Charles (“Chuck”) Ortner has been appointed to the Board of Directors of Americans for the Arts.
A leading nonprofit advocacy organization for advancing the arts, Americans for the Arts uses the power of art to transform and enhance economies, the work place, students and poverty stricken areas. Americans for the Arts aims to ensure that people across the country have access to the influential power of the arts, stimulating cultural understanding and international connections.
Chuck is a top entertainment lawyer. He was appointed by President Barack Obama to the Board of Trustees of The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in 2010 and was reappointed in 2016 for an additional six-year term. He is a litigator and strategic advisor to a wide variety of media and entertainment clients, most notably representing Sony Music Entertainment, Madonna and Lady Gaga. He also serves as the National Legal Counsel to the National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences, Inc. (the GRAMMY® Award organization).
