You have probably heard that some people use mainly the left side of their brain and others the right side. The right is seen as the creative, thoughtful side, while the left is seen as the analytical, rational side.

Laura Leone uses both sides to the fullest!

Thanks to her incredible drive and creative insight, she excels as a Project Manager (PM) at Brafton and has helped the people she works with and the accounts she works with.

Get up and fly … Left!

The Quinnipiac University graduate with a Bachelor of Arts in Advertising and Integrated Communication plus a minor in Arts, has a world full of opportunities ahead of her. She initially had more interest in her art minor and initially pursued a career as a graphic designer.

Her first job as an agent was at a small beginning. They tap her when they realize they need another project manager, and Laura stands out because of her organized work ethic. While sitting on the fence as a graphic designer and as a project manager, she found that she had to choose a side: left or right.

‘My first job was as a graphic designer at a very small agency, and as the agency grew, we needed a project manager for the design team and they thought I was the most organized in the team, and so I did.’ become a designer / PM hybrid. After a few years of doing that, I realized I wanted to become a full-time prime minister, and then I found Brafton.

The transition from the creative team to the PM team was more exciting and interesting for her.

“I’m definitely a ‘type A’ personality, so all the organizational and administrative tasks involved in running a project manager that some people find boring are very satisfying to me.”

A born project manager

When she was looking for her next agency to start her career as prime minister, she was looking for a company that would give her the chance ‘to work internally with creative teams on client projects, and the PM division at Brafton fits perfect. ”

While Brafton gives her the chance to work with different clients and is different every day, Laura says her favorite part of the job is the team.

‘My favorite part of my job is working in our internal teams, everyone is so talented and smart and I like to do their good work to my clients.

Laura shines as well as navigating through customer interactions, knowing she’s working with a team of ads she truly believes in.

Cats looking after … and people

Laura also likes the freedom to work from home because it gives her the chance to spend time with Zoey. While Laura makes requests and puts them to work, Zoey, her sweet, hairy roommate, demands morning exercises before Laura enters.

“If she does not get her morning power, she will meow through all my morning meetings!” Say Laura.

Managing people comes easily to Laura because she is committed to leading all other parts of her life – including Zoey! For the past year, she has even tried to sit – and ‘semi-successfully’ – for Zoey.

Navigate more than the PM landscape

If Laura is not shuffling through a client meeting, helping a content writer with a project, or coaching Zoey through another training session, you can discover Laura in nature. The greater Boston area offers more than just a fun cityscape and distinctive accents.

‘I have started exploring more local hiking trails in the greater Boston area since the beginning of quarantine; there is much more nature here than you would think! ‘

New England is not affected by cold weather and gray skies all year round. After the snow has dried up and the clouds open, it becomes a beautiful, lush, green landscape. So, if she’s not locked up or avoiding global pandemics, Laura often enjoys her shortened summer hours on the water.

‘In the summer I try to get outside as much as possible, especially when there is water. I like swimming, kayaking, paddleboarding or just being close to the water. ”

On a normal day, Laura does a little bit of everything to keep her creative flow going.

‘At work at home, I really increased my extravagant breakfast game. I wake up early to give myself time for a quiet morning, listen to podcasts, drink coffee and make breakfast-avocado toast and pizza eggs (reheated veggie pizza with too easy an egg on top) are two of my favorites. Inside the house I like to cook, read, draw and try to keep my plants alive. ”

Laura has mastered the art of balancing both sides of life.
