Damien J. Turco has been elected to be the vice president of the Massachusetts Bar Association.

The Newburyport man is the managing partner for his Andover-based law firm Turco Legal PC, an eight-attorney law firm that specializes in divorce and family law.

Turco has worked with a variety of people and groups to bring more diversity and inclusion to the law profession. He and Thomas M. Bond, who was named president, have set goals to help the bar association work in those areas as well during their next year of leadership, according to a statement from the bar association.

Turco is the co-founder and president of JusticeApp, Inc., a legal technology company with the mission of eliminating injustice nationwide. The application aggregates thousands of free legal resources and offers low-cost form generation and secure data storage designed to simplify the legal system for unrepresented people.

He also helped launch the state bar association’s mock interview program that helps young law students land jobs after graduation.

Turco graduated from Bryant College in 1999, and from New England Law, Boston in 2008. He grew up in Andover and lives in Newburyport with his wife, Melina, and three daughters.
