A former Dentons partner has alleged he was fired after trying to stop firm leadership from pocketing tens of millions of dollars of client money, according to a lawsuit in federal court.

Corporate attorney Jinshu “John” Zhang asserts that the firm, under the direction of its CEO Michael McNamara and general counsel Edward Reich, forged a document in an attempt to transfer millions from a client based in China. Zhang contends he was wrongfully terminated after reporting the alleged conduct to the firm’s governing board and calling for McNamara’s immediate removal, according to a complaint filed May 27.
