Senior Judge Stephen Williams, a long-standing and respected jurist on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit who was widely regarded as a “giant” of administrative law, has died of COVID-19, the court’s chief executive confirmed Saturday. He was 83.

Williams, who died Friday night, was remembered in a statement Saturday by Chief Judge Sri Srinivasan as having “committed his professional life to teaching, writing, and serving the public, including service on our court for more than three decades.”
