Hi everyone,

In this episode of Chips & Salsa, CRob and I got the chance to talk to 3 of the 10 researchers who contributed to a paper titled "AEX-Notify: Thwarting Precise Single-Stepping Attacks Through Interrupt Awareness for Intel SGX Enclaves" which was presented at the August 2023 USENIX conference.

AEX-Notify is a flexible hardware ISA extension that makes enclaves "interrupt aware" and can be used as a building block for implementing countermeasures against different types of interrupt-based attacks in software.

Listen in as Scott Constable (Intel), Jo Van Bulck (imec-DistriNet, Ku Leuven), and Xiang Cheng (Georgia Institute of Technology) talk about this research and the fact that it is already implemented into a revised version of the Intel SGX specification!
