Allen & Overy turns in 13 per cent half-year revenue hike

The firm's half-year results have revealed a double-digit lift in turnover.

Allen & Overy is the first of the Magic Circle to turn in its half-year figures for 2016/17. These are also the first set of results reported by the firm since the ascent of new senior partner Wim Dejonghe and managing partner Andrew Ballheimer.

Revenue has grown 13 per cent at Allen & Overy over the first half of 2016/17, now sitting at £731m. The firm has attributed the growth to mandates in London and the Asia-Pacific region, as well as several key hires across Europe, Asia and the United States. By way of comparison, Allen & Overy posted full-year turnover growth of 2.3 per cent to £1.28bn in 2015/16, and a 3.6 per cent half-year lift to £642m at this point last year.
