DocSolid Presents “Scanning v. Storing: Firms Have a Choice” at ARMA NYC Educational Luncheon
USA/Canada News

DocSolid logoDocSolid, a leader in enterprise document scanning solutions for the legal market, today announces its founder and president, Steve Irons, will be leading a concrete discussion on the ROI of scanning versus storing at an ARMA NYC luncheon October 21st at noon at Proskauer Rose LLP in Manhattan.

Randy Drakes, records manager for Baker & McKenzie will join the session to discuss how Baker & McKenzie in New York City has cut off the flow of paper to offsite storage.

DocSolid worked with Records and Technology executives from nine large law firms in a recent scan v. store study, the results of which determined the comparative hard costs of scanning and storing to be negligibly close, giving weight to the operational advantages of scanning. The study’s findings now provide a framework to quantify the hard numbers of paper storage costs and consider digital advantages for any law firm, and are the foundation for Steve’s educational session at the ARMA chapter luncheon.

Rudy Moliere, Director Records & Information at Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP and VP of Professional Development for the ARMY NYC chapter, said, “ARMA’s New York Chapter is driven to provide relevant educational sessions, in this case to help drive the digital transformation for our members and their organizations; at the same time, attendees get to hear from their peers who have made successful strides in that direction.”

The DocSolid scan v store study brought the storage cost and contents model down to the box level and compared a production scanning operation that would substantially eliminate the flow of paper to offsite records storage. The study succeeded in establishing a usable decision framework for any firm to apply to its own unique data and situations.

Steve Irons, president of DocSolid said, “We are proud to participate in this ARMA sponsored event and to help lead the change law firms want.  The diligence in the DocSolid scan v store study delivered a critical framework for firms to apply to their own investigations, and we’re pleased to contribute that to the ARMA leadership, members and attendees.”

This event is open to non-members of ARMA.
