Webinar: Hong Kong Employment Law Essentials in a Changing World: Part 6 – Managing Workplace Sickness

We invite you to join us for the sixth and final webinar in our series on “Hong Kong Employment Law Essentials in a Changing World”.

Hong Kong employers have witnessed an upward trend in the number of sickness-related cases arising from the COVID-19 pandemic. Perhaps surprisingly, these are not cases caused directly by employees contracting the coronavirus. Rather, the pandemic itself has brought about new challenges, such as working from home, home-schooling, social distancing, pay cuts, redundancies and longer working hours, leading to a rise in mental health issues, such as anxiety, depression and burnout. As a result, this has placed increased pressure on employers as they seek to navigate the practical and legal issues associated with sickness absence, workforce management and terminations.

In this webinar, Diana Purdy, Consultant, and Stephanie Wong, Managing Associate, of our Hong Kong Employment Team will discuss current trends and observations, common issues and challenges that employers encounter as well as practical and legal guidance on how to manage sickness absences in Hong Kong.

Participants in this live event will be able to ask questions via the Chatbox function, but please note that places are limited.

CPD point: We have applied to the Law Society for CPD accreditation of this webinar.
