International firm Dentons has delayed opening its new premises in Dublin until September in the latest office move disrupted by coronavirus.

In January Dentons announced plans to expand rapidly in Ireland, with a new office in Dublin city centre due to open at the beginning of May. However, the office – which will focus on financial services, real estate, energy, infrastructure and technology sectors – will now open in September, when it is expected to be ‘fully functioning’.

A spokesperson for the firm said: ‘Eavan Saunders and Peter O'Brien joined us earlier this year, since when we have been focussing our efforts on building a high calibre team of partners and associates in corporate, banking and finance/restructuring and real estate, and connecting them with colleagues in the global firm. Shane O'Donnell will be joining us soon and we have further hires at all levels in the pipeline.’

Several office openings have been delayed by the pandemic. Magic circle firm Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer is due to move into City skyscraper 100 Bishopsgate this summer, while Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner is scheduled to move from its London Bridge office to Governors House, near Cannon Street. However, with offices still largely shut, it is unclear when staff will relocate.
