International law firm Clifford Chance has advised the European full-service vehicle leasing provider Arval on the acquisition of UniCredit Leasing Fuhrparkmanagement GmbH, the fleet management business of UniCredit Leasing Austria, and on the agreement of a long-term exclusive sales cooperation with UniCredit Bank Austria.
The transaction is expected to be completed in September 2020 and is subject to antitrust clearance.
Arval was founded in 1989 and is part of the BNP Paribas Group. The full-service vehicle leasing and mobility solutions specialist with more than 7,000 employees worldwide leased 1.3 million vehicles in 2019. UniCredit Leasing Austria is a subsidiary of UniCredit Bank Austria.
With the acquisition of the UniCredit fleet leasing and fleet management business and its fleet of 6,000 vehicles, Arval will significantly strengthen its position in Austria with a leased fleet totaling 13,000 vehicles. In addition, the cooperation agreement with UniCredit Bank will give Arval access to one of the largest banking networks in Austria and especially to corporate customers.
