A former senior executive at a “magic circle” law firm has agreed not to disclose confidential documents that he claims reveal the practice’s continuing struggle with women in the workplace.

Frank Mellish, the former senior business development executive for Linklaters, agreed to destroy the documents that he said demonstrated his concerns over the firm’s culture, and to instruct others to whom he had passed any such documents to do the same.

Mr Justice Warby, in the High Court, gave a short judgment yesterday, which stated that the firm and Mr Mellish had reached an agreement to resolve the matter after Mr Mellish confirmed that he had done so. A schedule defining the information that Mr Mellish had promised not to disclose remained confidential.

Linklaters were
