Eversheds Sutherland has further strengthened its corporate practice in Manchester with the appointment of a new legal director.

Jamie Partridge, who has joined from Addleshaw Goddard, is an experienced corporate lawyer focused on mergers and acquisitions, initial public offerings, secondary issues, equity fundraisings, joint ventures and corporate restructurings. He has particular experience advising clients in the retail and consumer, TMT and manufacturing sectors.

He has worked on a range of high-profile deals including Norcros' £60m class one acquisition of Merlyn Industries; the £145m AIM IPO of Sumo Group; Zeus Capital and Jefferies International's £130m accelerated bookbuild fundraising for online fashion retailer boohoo.com and its shareholders; and comic writer Mark Millar's sale of his business to Netflix.

Simon Masters, partner at Eversheds Sutherland, said: "Jamie is a highly experienced senior practitioner in the corporate finance market. His M&A and ECM expertise acting for corporates, nominated advisers, brokers and sponsors will further strengthen our market leading global practice."

Partridge added: "I am delighted to be joining Eversheds Sutherland. The Eversheds Sutherland corporate team has a global practice representing premier clients from the region and beyond on their most important deals, both locally and across the world.

"I am really looking forward to becoming part of this team."
