$250m wind farm reaches financial close with HSF, G+T aid
Two top firms have advised on the development of the $250m Willogoleche Wind Farm, which has reached financial close.

The project on Willogoleche Hill, which is about 160km north of Adelaide, South Australia, will operate 32 wind turbines producing approximately 119MW of power.

Herbert Smith Freehills (HSF) acted for International Power (Australia), the joint venture between ENGIE and Mitsui that’s developing the wind farm. Gilbert + Tobin (G+T) was legal counsel of the financiers of the transaction.

HSF’s property finance team was led by partners Gerard Pike and Jon Evans. They were assisted by solicitors Matthew Selth and Sarah Oh. The firm’s procurement team was led by partner Toby Anderson, who was supported by senior associate Daniel Ficyk and solicitor Anna Lam.

G+T’s team included partner Simon Lynch, consultant Will McCann, and lawyers Andrew Kourpanidis and Colby List.
