NEW YORK--()--Hunton & Williams LLP announces the continued expansion of its corporate practice with the arrival of Samuel Wolff as special counsel in Washington. Wolff has focused his entire career on securities law and corporate finance. He has advised companies and other market participants with respect to a wide variety of securities law matters, including capital market and other securities transactions, disclosure, trading, reporting and regulatory issues. Wolff has substantial experience advising market participants regarding exempt domestic and cross-border securities offerings.

“Sam Wolff is an invaluable addition to the corporate practice team. Bringing him on board aligns with our strategic decision to add high-level laterals in key practices and geographic regions,” says J. We welcome him to the firm.”

Prior to joining Hunton, Wolff was a partner at Akin Gump, where he practiced for more than 22 years. Wolff previously served on the SEC staff in the Division of Corporation Finance. He was a member of the Chief Counsel’s Office of the SEC’s Division of Corporation Finance and later, as deputy chief of the Office of International Corporate Finance, served as co-draftsperson of the SEC’s Rule 144A and Regulation S rulemaking proposals.

Wolff is co-author and co-editor of a series of publications on securities law. He has co-authored over 20 books in a series titled Emerging Trends in Securities Law. A graduate of Brown University, Wolff received his law degree and Master of Laws in Securities Regulation from Georgetown University Law Center. In addition, he earned a doctoral degree in law from the University of Wisconsin School of Law for his work involving international securities regulation. He was a post-doctoral fellow (in absentia) at Yale University Graduate School and has studied at the London School of Economics.
