Birmingham law firm Wragge & Co has promoted five solicitors to the partnership.

Ed Colreavy and Jacqueline Knox (housing, development and regeneration), Ian Gordon (pension disputes), Jasvir Jootla (restructuring and corporate recovery) and Gus Wood (energy) will join the partnership on 1 May 2014.

Mr Colreavy trained at Wragge & Co and, since qualifying in 2000, has advised UK housebuilders on complex land acquisitions and disposals.

Ms Knox focuses on the social housing sector working with housing associations, local authorities, housebuilders and service providers.

Mr Gordon joined the firm as a director in 2011 from RPC and advises on all aspects of pensions litigation including High Court proceedings for employers, trustees and members and disputes involving The Pensions Regulator.

Mr Jootla specialises in non-contentious corporate recovery and restructuring work, advising directors, insolvency practitioners, receivers, lenders and stakeholders. He joined the firm in 2008 and became a director in 2011.

Mr Wood has specialised in energy work such as commercial contracts, regulatory and infrastructure projects since qualifying into the firm's energy and regulated industries team in 2002.

Wragge & Co senior partner Quentin Poole said: "We have looked at talent, experience, client requirements and growth opportunities, and have decided to promote these five exceptional individuals to the partnership.

"Each of them has demonstrated outstanding commitment to their clients, to maintaining the very highest professional standards and to supporting their colleagues. I am very pleased to welcome them as fellow partners."

The partners' promotions coincide with Wragge & Co's merger with City firm Lawrence Graham next month when it will become Wragge Lawrence Graham & Co, a £171 million business with 1,300 people operating from ten offices worldwide.
