Joe Halprin is leaving Mastercard, where he was assistant general counsel, to become general counsel of MoCaFi, a Black-owned fintech startup focused on closing the racial wealth gap.

Founded in 2014 in the wake of racial justice protests by CEO Wole Coaxum, MoCaFi, which is short for Mobility Capital Finance, says it provides underbanked individuals and small business owners with a platform to share ideas, learn best practices and access responsible products for a healthy financial lifestyle.
