Redskins Front Office Shakeup: Alex Santos and Richard Mann II reportedly fired

The Washington Redskins have reportedly fired two more members of their front office, after making major changes following a 3-13 season. Director of Pro Personnel Alex Santos and Assistant Director of Pro Personnel Richard Mann II were fired this weekend according to a report from the Athletic. During the front office upheaval earlier this year, there was a report that Santos had been fired, but he was retained until this weekend. He took over the position from Morrocco Brown in 2014, and has been key to bringing in free agents since then.

Washington owner Daniel Snyder fired team president Bruce Allen in December after ten years in that position. Snyder then built a “coach-centered” approach with Rivera, who joined the NFC East team after nine seasons with Carolina; the Panthers fired Rivera in December, before the end of last season. Snyder did not hire a new team president, and the franchise remains without a formal general manager; vice president of player personnel Kyle Smith ran the NFL Draft with Rivera.

Washington parted ways with senior Vice President of Football Operations and general counsel Eric Schaffer after 17 years in January and reassigned Vice President of Player Personnel Doug Williams to a player development position. Rivera brought over Carolina’s Rob Rogers to replace Schaffer, with Smith replacing Williams atop the personnel department.
