A former senior leader at the federal Public Company Accounting Oversight Board who is alleging workplace discrimination was fired in October over internal complaints about her conduct and for questions about the necessity of certain travel, the agency said in a new court filing in Washington.

The former executive, Sue Lee, who had served as chief risk officer since 2019, last month sued the audit accounting board for alleged discrimination and workplace harassment. Lee’s complaint in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia asserted she was fired by the chairman of the agency after a “xenophobic and racist campaign” against her. At the time of her termination, she was serving as acting chief administrative officer.
