Worldox - Version Releases

Keeping Worldox updated and with the latest code is a critical part of software maintenance.  Firm administrators and I.T. directors must stay on top of this type of maintenance for stability and security reasons.  While you may see no problems at the moment and think it’s unnecessary to change a system that is giving you no issues, you may be missing be out on important updates or features that can make your day-to-day experience easier. Take, for example, indexer as a service or Worldox Web Mobile. These features can greatly improve Worldox’s performance and provide valuable access to documents.  It doesn’t have to be a new feature, however. Sometimes these updates solve issues you may not have been aware were even happening! The process of running these updates if you find yourself in need is covered here in this complete article and will help you get started.

How do you know if you are on the latest version of Worldox or how to find out if updates are available? Luckily, with Worldox, the answer is simple and takes just a few moments. Let’s start at Wdupdate. While you might not be ready to run an update, you can always go to WDupdate (located in the same folder as WDmirror and WDadmin) and select check internet for updates.  It will tell you if your system has fallen behind and how many updates you may have missed. The current version is 150203.0907.  If you are on the latest version, you’ll see a message like this:

If you don’t see this message and don’t want to run an update yourself, feel free to reach out to us at any point for help. That’s what we are here for!

Now that we have checked Worldox, how do we update the other component pieces, like Worldox Web mobile or IAAS? Let’s take a look at IAAS.

Indexer as a Service or IAAS allows your Worldox indexer to run trouble free. Once installed, it will download an icon, seen below on the desktop. This is the Update Worldox service installer. All you have to do is click it and it will apply any new updates that may have been waiting in the wings. Once done (and it only takes a second) you’ll see this message appear. That’s it, … you’re good to go!

For Worldox Web Mobile, it’s very much the same approach as the main Worldox Update. Once installed, you will see a Worldox icon named Update Worldox Web. When you open it, you will be presented with the option to check the internet for updates. Once you run that check, it will either tell you are on the most current version or that you have an update available. Again, if you aren’t comfortable updating the mobile portion, let us know and we will be happy to schedule a time to assist.

If you have Symphony OCR , you will want to check that as well. It’s important not to let anything fall behind. In Symphony, the process is just as simple. Once you open Symphony, you will see an option to check for updates (see below screenshot) in the upper righthand side of the webpage.

Click check for updates. With any luck, it should read like this. If it or any of the other programs don’t update, make sure to check out the article linked earlier for further information on the updating process itself and then reach out to us if you have any further questions. We’re always happy to help. You can reach us by calling 877-676-5492, or simply request a consultation.
