post-AI=gold
Olga Mack writes on a topic this morning attributed (partially) to AI that I think is misplaced. Her subtitle is "In the quest to integrate AI and legal technology into legal practice, use cases are not just important but indispensable," and in that she is 100% correct. The use of AI is most likely an attempt to draw the reader in, as we still are riding high in the hype cycle. The problem is this post does not need to reference AI at all to continue to be 100% correct. Her conclusion is so right, "The future of legal tech is not about technology for technology's sake. It's about thoughtful, purpose-driven innovation that enhances the practice of law, improves client outcomes, and upholds the principles of justice. Use cases are the roadmap for this future, charting a course for technology that is meaningful, impactful, and aligned with the noble pursuit of law." Be sure to read it, but you can skip all the AI references. Read more at

Task Force Lima (Bean)
I am doubtful of the usefulness of Pentagon's Chief Data & AI Office's Task Force Lima maturity model. The outgoing CDAO, Craig Martell, told the House Armed Services Committee "We've been working really hard to figure out where and when generative AI can be useful and where and when it's gonna be dangerous." It sounds like a dog chasing his tail to me. Do any pinions really think they will be able to identify a dangerous AI or will they see it in the rear view mirror? Read more at
