A federal judge on Wednesday shut down an emergency bid to release more information tied to Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation after finding a senior White House official’s declaration on President Donald Trump’s tweets about declassifying Russia probe materials effectively withdrew any expansion Trump may have granted to a prior declassification directive.

U.S. District Judge Reggie Walton of the District of Columbia made the ruling on an emergency motion filed by Loevy & Loevy attorney Matthew Topic and Ballard Spahr’s Charles Tobin on behalf of BuzzFeed News and its reporter Jason Leopold and CNN in litigation over the Mueller report and its underlying documents, which also involves the Electronic Privacy Information Center. That motion relied upon recent tweets by Trump that referenced the “total declassification” of the Russia documents and called for “no redactions!”
