Stone Clemency Also Scraps Supervised Release, $20,000 Fine (1)

President Donald Trump’s commutation of <-bsp-person state="{"_id":"00000173-4a3a-d229-a177-dffb54100000","_type":"00000160-6f41-dae1-adf0-6ff519590003"}">Roger Stone’s 40-month prison term for lying to Congress and tampering with a witness during the Russia probe also scraps the two years of supervised release and $20,000 fine that were part of his sentence.

A copy of Trump’s signed two-page executive grant of clemency was posted to Stone’s criminal docket on Monday after U.S. District Judge Amy Berman Jackson ordered prosecutors to explain the full scope of the <-bsp-bb-link state="{"bbDocId":"QDB7N2DWRGG1","_id":"00000173-4a3a-d229-a177-dffb54110001","_type":"0000016b-944a-dc2b-ab6b-d57ba1cc0000"}">commutation handed to the president’s longtime friend and political booster on Friday.
