Phoenix Business Solutions and CheckRecipient announce Strategic Cybersecurity Partnership
Global News

PBS logoLondon based cybersecurity startup, CheckRecipient, and global enterprise content & document management specialist, Phoenix Business Solutions, today announce a strategic partnership that will see CheckRecipient’s award-winning1 enterprise email security solution become part of Phoenix’s new Cybersecurity, Compliance, and Information Governance (CCIG) offering to its legal and professional services clients globally.

The relationship recognises the growing need for legal and other professional services firms to address increasing concerns around data security and privacy, especially with the introduction of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) next year. With email still the foremost communication method for potentially sensitive data, CheckRecipient’s machine learning technology analyses historic information and sending patterns within law firms, to prevent emails from accidentally being sent to the wrong people or intentionally being sent to unauthorised accounts.

Phoenix Business Solutions will act as the lead UK, EMEA, North American and Australasian reseller for CheckRecipient to its legal and professional services client base.

Jason Petrucci, CEO, Phoenix Business Solutions, comments: “New regulation, such as the EU GDPR, marks a new era for the legal sector, which has traditionally relied on self-regulation. There is now an increasing emphasis on the safeguarding of personal information, and ensuring that potentially sensitive content is going only to the correct recipients is now a crucial part of compliance and data governance best practice. CheckRecipient offers a unique and innovative solution to this issue, which harnesses the latest artificial intelligence technologies to ensure human error is mitigated to maximum effect. We are delighted to add this solution to our cybersecurity offering.”

Tim Sadler, CEO, CheckRecipient, adds: “According to recent statistics from the Information Commissioner’s Office, misaddressed emails were the number one cause of digital data security reported”. From March 2018, organisations that cannot demonstrate demonstrable proof of intent to comply with the GDPR are likely to be subject to potentially significant fines in the event of a breach, which is clearly unsustainable.

“Phoenix Business Solutions’ deep experience of the legal and professional services sectors means that they have a great understanding of firms’ business processes and communications policies, which will help them guide our joint clients in the successful implementation of CheckRecipient to protect against human error and ensure GDPR compliance. This is a very opportune time to be partnering, which we see as a key part of our continued business growth and success.”
