Longtime Philadelphia Law Firm Leader Dies at 51

Carl M. Buchholz, managing partner of DLA Piper’s Philadelphia office and the former managing partner of Blank Rome, died on Monday at the age of 51.

Buchholz passed away at his home in Philadelphia on Monday afternoon under the care of physicians with his family, his DLA Piper partner James Brogan said.

“He had been ill for some time and even though he was ill, he worked up until the very last day,” said Brogan. He declined to disclose the official cause of death, saying that his family will decide how and when to discuss the issue.
