As Uber and other tech companies move across the San Francisco Bay to Oakland, it raises an interesting question: Will any law firms follow them?
“My guess is we’re not going to see ... firms setting up in Oakland,” said John Bautista, of Orrick, echoing what appears to be a consensus.
Bautista estimated his firm represents 20 clients located in Oakland while Peter Werner, of Cooley, said as much as 10 percent of his clientele now is located in the East Bay, up from zero percent a few years ago.
