Police seek woman in relation to murdered DLA associate

A well-built, hooded person seen entering the hotel and climbing the stairs to the floor where a DLA Piper associate was found stabbed in Washington DC is probably female, according to police investigators.

Anthony Haythe of the Metropolitan Police Department has given a short press conference in which he discussed progress on the case relating to the fatal stabbing of David Messerschmitt, an IP associate in DLA Piper, in February. The hotel CCTV film shows the person that the police want to talk to going up in a lift and then climbing some stairs. The build of the person suggests a male figure at times but the police have come to the conclusion that the individual is more likely a woman.

Widow's speech

The widow of the lawyer also spoke at the press conference. Fighting back the tears, Kim Vuong asked for help from people who might have information. She said: 'I know there are people out there who could bring justice to David and me, to our families and friends, and to everyone in Washington who deserves to live in safety.'  Source: Washington Post
